About

Jasmeet Kaur is a San Antonio based artist. She received her Master’s in Textile Design and Development from The National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi, India. She worked for several years in the field of interior design and, in 2015, started her own company Kaur Competency LLC working with residential homes, boutique hotels, and offices. She launched an art studio, Baani Art, in 2017 inspired by nature, spirituality, and current global situations that are expressed in vibrant colors and mediums.

She is now a registered artist in the city of San Antonio and a Committee member for the Public Art Committee of San Antonio. She is a Member at Large of the San Antonio Art League and Museum and serves on the Building & Grounds Committee at the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA). She has had her works featured in several publications.

Her work explores silhouettes and abstractions that flow organically from the subject. Her creative process weaves oils, acrylics, gouache, foil, pen across fabrics, canvas, and paper to produce abstract narratives and inspirational art.
